Kagan: its Fine if The Law Bans Books Because Government Won’t Really Enforce It

Where to buy law books

While I would be tempted to suggest that you buy your books right to the local bookstore, the kind of offers available on-line can not be matched by most physical retailers. Let's face it: the textbooks are expensive, and law books even more. In fact, the rising cost of textbooks is the reason for the proliferation of online sellers of textbooks that sell books at prices much cheaper than stores like Barnes & Noble or your local college. An obvious place to begin your search is Amazon.com. The online retail giant is virtually synonymous with books, and I come across a book that was not available on Amazon. With its recent emphasis on used books, you can usually find quite a good offer if you search enough. Speaking of used books and deals, the place to go has to be Half.com. Half.com is an eBay service oriented mainly to the sale of used books, CDs, DVDs, etc. If you are willing to compromise on the condition of the book, you can find deals as low as 1 cent. If mint condition is not your thing, then I seriously recommend this website. For those of you who have an ear for audio books, do not check out Audible.com. His collection of electronic books is very wide, although the same can not be said of their textbooks. But a search might prove fruitful. Another exciting new ebook retailer is Chegg. You may be familiar with Netflix – you order unlimited DVDs a month, coming in the mail in a day, send it back to them and get new DVDs in your queue. Chegg basically applies the result Netflix model for textbooks with some surprisingly strong offers all kinds of textbooks. Other retailers book to consider is AbeBooks and Alibris. If you Alibris using, be sure to search online for their latest coupons, you can usually shave a couple of books out of the total cost with a discount code simple. There are also a few online retailers that specialize in books of law as LawBooks.com, Wildys.com and Nolo.com. These are often difficult to find books in stock. Amazon also made an announcement a few weeks ago to start storing the law books for the Kindle from Amazon. The Kindle is an electronic book reader wonderful and a must for any book lover or a serious reader. Although you will lose the ability to scribble notes over the page margins, capacity Kindle to hold thousands of books in a package thinner than an iPhone really makes a good investment. Last but not least, hit website your university and ask around for the exchange of books, or other students selling their books. At least you can physically inspect the books if they are anxious about online shopping. Bookswap.com is a great site to share textbooks, so it is the local section of Craigslist. The key is finding the right to know against a namely, their own time and effort. Look around all textbook retailers important before deciding to buy, however, a little research can cost you anything from $ 20 to $ 500.

Les Miserables Original London Cast

Les Miserables Original London Cast

$17.01

This recording captures the 1985 London cast that transformed an obscure French musical based on Victor Hugo’s gargantuan novel of pre-Revolutionary France into a worldwide phenomenon throughout the late-’80s and ’90s and became one of the best examples of the era’s trend of blockbuster musical spectacles. Yes, Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schoenberg’s score tends to recycle its themes, but the…

Bad Boys II (Two-Disc Special Edition)

Bad Boys II (Two-Disc Special Edition)

$0.37

No one goes to a movie directed by Michael Bay for delicacy and grace; you go because Michael Bay (Armageddon, The Rock) knows how to make your bones rattle during a high-speed chase when a car flips over, spins through the air, and smacks another car with a visceral crunch. Bad Boys II fulfills this expectation and then some. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence may be mere puppets amid all this burnin…

Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina [VHS]

Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina [VHS]

$19.98

Sophie Marceau plays the title character in this 1997 version of Tolstoy’s classic, set in Imperial Russia. Bernard Rose (Paperhouse) directs, but his accent is on sumptuousness instead of performance, and the result is that much of what happens–especially Anna’s affair with Vronsky (Sean Bean)–is opaque and unbelievable. (Bean in particular is badly suited to his part.) A redeeming feature is …

The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns [VHS]

The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns [VHS]

$9.98

There’s a war goin’ on in this bit o’ blarney, but it’s more than the feud between the fairies and the leprechauns, upon which most of the overwrought tale hangs. It’s also a struggle between competing, derivative story lines in this bloated, plodding film that can’t decide what it wants to be. It’s part Romeo and Juliet, via the seemingly doomed romance of the princess fairy and teenage leprechau…

Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil [VHS]

Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil [VHS]

$6.99

Readers of John Berendt’s bestselling novel were bound to be at least somewhat disappointed by this big-screen adaptation, but despite mixed reaction from critics and audiences, there’s still plenty to admire about director Clint Eastwood’s take on the material. Readers will surely miss the rich atmosphere and societal detail that Berendt brought to his “Savannah story,” and the movie can only scr…
